ABSTRACT

Stern A., A coprological survey of parasite eggs in western grey kangaroos (Macropus fuliginosus) in Western Australia, Online J Vet Res 10 (2):130-133, 2006. Seventeen fecal and blood samples were collected from wild Western Grey Kangaroos (Macropus fuliginosus) at two sites in Western Australia. The samples were examined for parasite eggs, larvae, cysts, and oocysts; all samples taken were positive for endoparasites. In this study there were no identifiable cestode or trematode eggs identified. One kangaroo had microfilaria identified within its blood. The purpose of this study is to serve as a reference to monitor the health status and improve the management of wild Western Grey Kangaroos through parasite screening.
