ABSTRACT
Meimandi PA, Gandomani JM, Bagheri MH, Evaluation of anatomical communication between distal sesamoid bursa and distal interphalangeal joint space in the cattle with contrast radiography and CT-arthrography, Online J Vet Res, 13 (2):19-26, 2009. Twenty distal hind limbs and eight distal forelimbs collected at abattoir from healthy Holstein cows with no signs of clinical lameness. The limbs were divided randomly into two groups so that ten distal hind limbs and four distal forelimbs for each. The contrast radiographic technique was used in group A and the contrast computed tomography (CT) scan in group B for detection of anatomical communication of distal sesamoid bursa and distal interphalangeal joint space. The images showed the absence of contrast medium in the distal sesamoid bursa that revealed no anatomical communication of the distal sesamoid bursa and distal interphalangeal joint in cattle.
