The USS AURORA is ordered to convey a United Federation of Planets Delegation to act as mediator for peace talks between the Gorn Hegemony and the Tholian Holdfast

Caution is advised as neither party is accustomed to seeking aid from the Federation.

The USS AURORA arrived at the designated location for the peace talks. She took on delegations from both the Tholian Holdfast, and the Gorn Hegemony

The peace talks ensued, however little hope existed for their success.

The leader of the Federation Delegation, Ambassador Melinkorn, refused to submit to a standard Medical Examination. The issue was never fully resolved, as the Ambassador collapsed after suffering an apparent heart attack.

Upon closer examination of Ambassador Melinkorn, Romulan Cerebral Implants were discovered. Their purpose at this time is not clear.

The remainder of the Gnalish Delegation seemed completely incapable of carrying on the peace talks, so the task fell to the Captain and the Ship's Counsellor

The ship was subject to numerous sabotague attempts. It was later determined that CMAA Mohammed el-Beslam, was masterminding the attacks. His motivation was apparently to disrupt the peace talks, a task which he eventually achieved.

Both the Gorn Hegemony and Tholian Holdfast Delegation blamed the sabotague attempts on the other, thus allowing them to withdraw from the talks.

el-Beslam was arrested, and turned over to SECIS, though he is yet to divulge the names of his accomplices.

It is assumed that the disruption of the peace talks served the purposes of some unknown third party. Those purposes, much like the true motivations behind the resumption of hostilities between the Gorns and Tholians, are unknown.
