Commander-in-Chief, Gold Fleet
Admiral Gordon Crowell became Commander-in-Chief Gold,
Fleet (CINCGOLD) when Gold Fleet was re-established on
1 January 2411. One of three core Federation fleets,
Gold is charged with maintaining the safety of the
Gorn/Tholian borders, as well as with patrolling the
boundaries of the Scutum Arm rift and exploring the
region of rimward Beta quadrant space of the Scutum Arm,
Orion Spur and 3-Kiloparsec Arm.

was assigned to rebuild Green Fleet. Starting with a single
cruiser division and several patrol squadrons, Admiral
Crowell won approval to negotiate the leasing of SB Delta
from the Vulcan government. He oversaw the refurbishment
of the abandoned science station, and began to increase
Green's force strength.
Within two years, Green was one of three core fleets with
a mandate a peacekeeping mandate along the Cardassian
Trucial Zone, as well as in Federation-controlled Alpha
quadrant areas of the Scutum and Sagittarius Arms. The
success of Green permitted the closure of Gold Fleet in
2408 in the midst of the Federation's budgetary crisis.
Between 2408 and 2410, Green Fleet's patrol zones were
extended to include the Federation-controlled Beta quadrant
regions of the Scutum Arm, while Blue Fleet absorbed the
remainder.
