Better than average administrator (improving); effective strategician;
highly organised; demanding of both himself and others; Tolerant of
other viewpoints, though he has been known to be obnoxious when he
considers the other viewpoint as untenable; extremely tenacious,
especially in arguements; ability to play devils advocate, even against
deeply held personal beliefs.

VI. Summary of Starfleet Career
-------------------------------
Immediately upon graduation from the Academy, and Space Warfare Officers
School, Bjorkman began to distinguish himself from his peers.
His early rotations were noted as highly successful, leading to an early
promotion to departmental head. Towards the end of his rotation as ENG
on the PANACHE he turned down postings for several OPS chairs on other
vessels, prefering to hold out for an OPS chair on the then coveted
Galaxy class cruisers.
This decision did not earn him the respect from the Admiralty, and his
climb seemed to stagnate. Finally he was convinced to take a posting to
ENG on the Bismark.
His earlier decision had indeed hurt his promotion prospects, and
younger officers who had spent time on less glamorous postings, were
beginning to be promoted above him. To many it seemed as if his
promising career had ground to a halt.
Immediately after the OPS officer on the BISMARK was killed during a
fierce firefight, Bjorkman stepped into the OPS chair. While many have
viewed this move as mercenary at best, during the rest of the battle,
Bjorkman excelled in his assumed duties. Upon completion of the battle,
the CO formally reassigned Bjorkman as the BISMARKs OPS manager. This
decision was to later be ratified by CINCGREEN.
Bjorkman's rotations as OPS manager once again brought his jacket to the
attention of the important people, and after a respectable time he was
promoted and assigned to XO of the EAGLE.
His application to attend Starfleet Staff & Command College was accepted
on his first attempt. He excelled during his time there and he was
offered a command immediately upon completion. That he accepted a
command of anything less than a Galaxy class cruiser, proves beyond
doubt that Bjorkman is able to learn from his mistakes.
After 3 years of successful command of the PERTH he was offered a new
command, that of the WHITE DWARF, a soon to be commisioned Solar Class
command cruiser.
His rotations on the Solar Class vessels, meant an increased exposure to
the Admiralty throughout Starfleet, and his abilities as a strategician
were deemed to be of more use than his command skills, and he was
assigned to TACFLEET.
His rotation at TACFLEET are noted as being successful, though not as
successful as the Captain had hoped for. The same can be said of his
time spent as Liason between TACFLEET and OSFI, though the skills
demonstarted during these rotations were noted by the Admiralty.
His latest posting as Gold Logistics Officer, marks another milestone in
his career, and would seem to place him one step closer to his stated
goal in Starfleet - to command a Tactical Squadron.

VII. Psychological Profile
--------------------------
Commodore Rhys Bjorkman's earliest memories are of standing at a
shuttlebay after his mother departed to assume XO duties on the USS
AKAGI. That his first memory involves Starfleet is not unique, but it
is a precursor for events that follow. Bjorkman places no significance
on the memory at all.
In 2367, a 5 year old Bjorkman was sitting with a group of his friends
in the bedroom of his parents apartment. The group were watching live
feeds from the battle of Wolf-359. His memories of this event are
etched clearly, and Bjorkman acknowledges that this event has shaped
much of his adult life.
His friends reacted in much the way five year olds would be expected.
They didn't believe that the images were real, and as such viewed the
proceedings as an adult would view a melodrama; cheering when the
Federation managed to inflict some damage on the Borg vessels, and
booing loudly whenever a Federation vessel was hit.
Bjorkman's reactions were quite different. He watched the sidelines,
looking for mention of the NCC registration code of his mother's current
ship. When the NCC was listed amongst the ships destroyed, he stood and
left the room.
His mother however, somehow survived, and was returned to Earth for
extended medical leave. She never regained full use of her left side,
and was posted Earth-side for administration duties.
Bjorkman reacted to these events by withdrawing. His emotional
responses to situations was dulled to the point of being undiscernable
by the Starfleet Counselling Corps. He also claims that it was shortly
after these events that he became convinced that he would become an
officer in Starfleet.
Over the next few years the young boy received hours of counselling
sessions, which eventually lead to a return to normal affect by the age
of 12.
The drive to become an Officer never waned from that point. Bjorkman
remembers one of his childhood teachers scolding him about his grades.
The teacher insisted that he would never become anything of value unless
he applied himself to his schoolwork. This offhand remark coupled with
the abnormal drive for such a young man, sparked a desire for learning
that has never diminished. To this day, Bjorkman is not satisfied
unless actively engaged in some educational pursuit.
Bjorkman's reaction to the loss of his brother, Harrison, was remarkably
normal. He blamed himself for urging his brother to join Starfleet, but
over the next few days came to accept that his brother had made his own
choices. He has never consciously held out the hope that his brother is
anything but dead, even though SF RECORDS still list him as MIA.
Bjorkman lists his proudest day as the day he watched his son William
being commisioned as a Starfleet Officer; though he notes that a very
close second was being present for the birth of both his children.
