I have spent over 12 years in a public service environment where I have utilised Excel and other Microsoft applications to enhance the efficiency and productivity of myself and my teams. In addition to performing numerous "once off" data collation and analysis tasks, I have created many Excel based tools to simplify and reduce workloads associated with the regular collection and analysis of data associated with financial management, knowledge capturing, task and time sheet management and contract management. I have also created many Excel tools to assist me privately manage share investments and trading, property management, tax return preparation and bills management.
I have witnessed many individuals and businesses shy away from using the power of standard applications like Excel. To me this appears to be the result of them simply not possessing the time to invest in understanding the applications, or to seek out specific training to enable them to create the tools for their specific needs. Excel, like most commercial applications, can also be intimidating to understand and use as a consequence of the overuse of computer programming jargon and lingo - especially when using the in built "Help" options.
I am offering services to assist individuals and business to explore their data collation and information generation requirements, to produce the tools they need to manage data collation and analysis and provide associated support to enable the tools to be successfully introduced into use by themselves and their businesses. My skills extend into other Microsoft applications and I'm happy to discuss these as well. I also have skills in specialty applications such as Telelogic DOORS, for managing systems engineering efforts.
