This site is something I have been intending to get started for a very long time. My grandfather , John "Jock" Cameron fought in WW1 in the deserts of the Middle East as a member of a very famous branch of the Australian Army - The Light Horse. Mounted soldiers who fought in the last horse led charge in modern warfare, at Beersheba. He was a young man and an inquisitive man. This resulted in him keeping extensive diaries of every little thing that occurred while he was there, as well as taking literally thousands of photographs. Unfortunately most of the photos have been lost to the family, but I have all of his diaries. It is something that will take a long time to get online, and to read. Come back monthly to follow his life, and to see the newest scans I have added. Enjoy ....
