I would like to thank Trevor for these photographs and for the insight into the hidden war that most of us were blissfully unaware of. Trevor served aboard HMS/M Spartan during the conflict.
HMS/M Spartan
The Spartan was tasked with various duties, one of which was to keep enemy submarines away from the surface fleet and plot the minefield off the coast of Port Stanley. Another duty we where tasked to carry out was to sit off the coast of Argentina on the flightpath from the airforce bases to try and give the fleet early warning of air attack. We have not to this day ever found out if we were succesful in warning the fleet and if any one on the ships ever realised that we were out there performing these duties.

The Conqueror is extremely well known as she sank the Argentinian Cruiser "General Belgrano".
