How can I tell these apart?
How can I tell which are the strongest?
The best?
Not by the labels: they¹re faded, handwritten in what looks like a foreign language.

The smell, then?
The colour?
Red linctus - stronger than the yellow tablets?
Spotted capsules, mauve in the bottle, scarlet in the mouth, better than the green suppositories?
White pills that smell of dentist?
White cream that might be for the face? Better than the brown liquid in the blue glass phial?

Who knows?
Better to make no mistake and swallow them all.
Because once they¹re inside, once they¹re down there, all mixed up...
They make the one colour.
The one indescribable colour.
Once they¹re down inside.
