Chess Page - Tony Sims

[ Index ]

  • A page devoted to this rather dubious activity,
which involves up to 32 plastic or wooden pieces
being moved about an 8 by 8 chequered board,
in response to some rather arbitary algorithms!
This purpose is seemingly of great importance
to the mover, but is generally regarded as an
indication of insanity by the general populace!

Medical problems, in particular Chronic Low Blood Pressure, mean that I have had to give up Crossboard Chess [as of 3rd May 2002ad]. Where once I could play up to three Tournament games a week, travelling for up to an hour to the venue; now I can not manage even one without my play falling away after an hour. It only makes me bad-tempered & depressed; so there is no point in me continuing to waste my time & irritate others. Fortunately, Correspondence Chess remains, at least for the moment.
