Vale Andy Shriekbeak

Bird Of Birds

May You Fly All Your

Eternity In The Sunshine

Once and Future Andy Shriekbeak!

Who Defended His Honour With His Beak

But Who was also Generous with His Thanks

Praising with Beak Kisses.

His Last Weeks

Saw His Discovery

Of Dried Fruit

And Short Course

Long Distance Running.

Such that up to the Stroke

He was in Ecstasy!

In His Last Minutes

He Kissed Those He Loved

And Died As He Lived

Attempting One Last

Shriek With His Beak !!

ANDY SHRIEKBEAK DIED

9.15 pm SUNDAY 16TH DECEMBER 2001AD

MUCH MISSED !!

This is Andy Shriekbeak; a photograph taken by Helen Harmer at her home in August 2001, just before he and Ludwig Van Budgie-Bird moved into my care. That is a Cos Lettuce Leaf that he is eyeing intently. Before he discovered Dried Fruit in December 2001, Lettuce was something he was very passionate about, although over-indulgence gave him the runs. The photograph is taken through Ludwig's cage, hence the plethora of bars! One must remember also, that small birds often value their cages as a protection. Budgies who roam secure homes, return to their cages to roost at night.
