EATERS OF FILTH was first performed in October 98 as an end-of-year production at the Victorian College of the Arts. An evolved version was staged at La Mama Theatre, Melbourne in August 99, then taken to Canberra for Jigsaw Theatre Company. All productions were directed by Christian Leavesley. Comprising the La Mama cast were Will Hodgeson, Jennifer Priest, Francis McMahon & Elizabeth Friels. The play is approx50 mins in length and has a cast of four it is a black comedy that plays fast and loose with the concepts of time-travel and illegal organ harvesting - linking a current day epidemic of heart disease with the sacrificial techniques the ancient Aztecs |
