Eaters of Filth |

Hear me, citizens! Hear me, Tlacatecuhtli, Snake-Woman, chief of men! Hear me, Snake-Man, revered among women. Hear me, priests and dignitaries! Hear me, Knights of the Eagle and Knights of the Ocelot! Hear me and come hither to the pyramid of Huizilopochtli, where a great and enduring truth shall be uttered. I am who you know as Tepeyolohtli, the Heart of the Mountains; as Mictlantecuhtli, the Lord of the Dead. I am Xipe, the flayed God; Tezcatlipoca, the Smoking Mirror; I am Xolotl, Double-Monster God, and I am Tlazolteotl, the Eater of Filth. Indeed, I am called Huizilopochtli, all gods in one, and I command you to this gathering, so that a new Sacred Almanac can be writ and a new index of ritual prescribed. Truly, my people, we face the exhaustion of our allotted days, and Tonalamatl, the holy Book of Fate, must be renewed ere this season ends - or we shall be swallowed, swiftly, without mercy, by the grinding doom that shadows our beloved nation. |
