In a new twist on spam the bad guys could be putting your name in the "from" box and forging emails to make it look like you're the one spamming! Not only will you suddenly start getting lots of any people responding to an email you know nothing about, but they'll start telling you ISP too.
Your ISP may take a dim view of that.

The serious part of today's show is pretty serious - There has been 'multiple vulnerabilities in many implementations of the Simple Network Managemetn Protocol' - I had to copy that from a big document.....
FW refered you to the CERT site - there's a huge document there listing the problems

Not sure if the anti-virus product on your computer is working? Visit eicar online for a nifty little program that checks to see if your anti virus is working properly.

What you need is a PDA, trust us, you do, they do all sorts of things that you can do with pen and paper, but they're more fun.
Revo - is designed to fit right into your pocket, and right into your life, we don't know what you're doing with your life in your pocket... but there you have it.
Compaq call there PDA's Handhelds
FW uses a Palm and they aren't hairy, its true, I looked.
GP uses a great big Franklin ebook with a massive 16 meg - pity he's so stumpy.

George W - known to us as dubya has a stack of web sites devoted to him - he told us to get on with our lives, so we did by checking at his web sites.....
And there is just so many of them, check out the YAHOO! pages.
and some of FW's fav sites include Dubya's World including photos with captions.
The Bushwhacker News Network claims that their policy is, as quoted by Senator Trent Lott, "We can Support our troops, without supporting the President"
Now this one is really confusing - its www.dubyadubya.net it has images for your viewing pleasure.

Keep it Up (to date)

As more and more people come to rely on Microsoft Windows, in all its various forms, so to do the malious types who hope to exploit 'known' security issues on your machine. That is, they could well take over your machine from a remote site. You know you should - keep it up todate - you're computer that is. Its easy - get along to MS Windows Update. As these flaws in windows are found, MS issue patches, and you should try and keep your program up to date. While you're over there mucking around on the MS site, check ou their Secuirty Bulletins. If you're running Office check out the Product Updates too. Microsoft has a whole site dedicated to Security.
Another little program worth checking out is PatchWork its an anti-intrusion Patch Verrification Scanner for Windows NT - it works out what your Windows NT Machine is missing.
updateIf you've got any Symantec products you can also run their live update which will keep your anti-virus product up to date.

KEEP YA TRAP SHUT!

Can anyone crawl into your computer while you're connected to the internet? It is possible for someone to 'scan' your computer to find an open port. Then it may be possible for them to alter, add, delete ... you get the picture. Stop the snoops with a firewall. There are a few about, check out Norton's Personal Firewall 2000 . It claims to be your maximum defense against hackers. Perhaps you can try McAfee's Personal Firewall. It monitors all network activity and stops all know hacks, nukes, trojans and DOS attacks. (dos? do they mean disk operating system....). If you're a cheap skate like FW and GP, get along to Zone Labs and download their award-winning ZoneAlarm.
....and finally, have your shields scanned by visiting Gisbon Research and going to 'Shields Up'. Their computer will scan yours to look for possible loop holes in your ports... ooo, I'm all excited now.....
