WHAT I TRANSLATE

Shane London  B.A. (Hons)  M. Lt. St.
Translator accredited at Level 3 by the National Accreditation Authority for Translators and Interpreters (Australia)

Since gaining accreditation to translate from German to English in 1996, I have translated the following types of documents while working as a contractor for an agency.  Although I didn't choose to specialise in any particular subject area, it has turned out that most of my assignments over the last six years (about 85%) have been in the area of Law and Health.

WHAT I DON'T TRANSLATE

Although I have translated a limited amount of technical material, I am not a technical translator.  I do not translate documents on subjects such as chemistry or electrical or mechanical engineering as these are beyond my field of knowledge.  Some translators do advertise specifically as technical translators who specialise in these fields, usually because they are employed full-time in the field.  Please see my page on Other German Translators for examples of these.

I do not translate literary texts, although I have some interest in this field.  This situation may change in the future.
